Finding information about Missouri mental health services becomes a bit easier.

Officials with the Missouri Department of Mental Health and Gov. Matt Blunt will officially launch a health information Web site for Missourians with developmental disabilities and behavioral health issues. The Web site, www.missouri.networkofcare.org, is a pilot program for Missouri and for the nation, according to a representative from the Missouri Department of Mental Health.

"It's a very powerful site and we're thrilled to finally have it online," said Dorn Schuffman, department director. "For someone who is just discovering that they or a family member has a condition like this, having a confidential way to find out a bunch of information is very important."

The Web site allows users to search an extensive library of research materials as well as search for services by county. Information is available in several languages, and the site includes message boards and community calendars.

The state purchased the service from Trilogy Integrated Resources LLC of San Rafael, Calif.

A Department of Mental Health representative said the state paid an initial set-up fee and about $12,000 per month for maintenance.
