Burlison for Council effort under way

The official kickoff of the effort to get Doug Burlison on Springfield City Council, started yesterday.

A group of volunteers went out and got quite a few signatures to put Doug Burlison on next Aprils' ballot.

Right now, we're about halfway to what we'd like to have for signatures. We're planning for next Saturday, November 18th, to do another door-to-door effort. Anyone wishing to help, contact us at:

If you don't know, Doug ran two years ago for Council, and did amazingly well considering how much money goes into running for a non-paying position.

We're working on another push this Saturday, November 18th. I'll post a time-and-place when we nail it down.

What we need: 200 valid signatures. Right now, we're at about 150, and we'd like to have extras to make sure we have the magic amount.

Weather permitting, we'll do a door-to-door; if anyone has ideas for good target neighborhoods, get hold of me at the phone numbers in the post, or drop me a mail at:

But we've got to get moving on this. Signatures have to be turned in by the 21st.

Also: Anyone who can't help, but want to sign a petition, get hold of us. We'll get one to you.

Doug came close last time he ran. If we can get over the signature hurdle, he's got a good chance of stirrin' the gravy in the next race.
