You now have a
voice in the news, information , and events that affect everyone who calls
Northwest Springfield home.
The main content of
our site is created by you the user and is the only open forum in Southwest
Missouri focused specifically on the Northwestern area of Missouri's Queen
City.
What kind of
information should be submitted you may ask? Everything...
Politics, Religion,
Family Values, Business Information, Neighborhood Organization Information and
anything else that affects us at the Local, State, or National level.
- News -
These are stories that have been published by other news organizations or can be
attributed (directly linked or attributed) to the original story or source. If
you submit News stories and they cannot be verified they will be moved to gossip
by a moderator. If you republish a story from another internet source you must
include the source URL or HTTP address.
- Gossip -
This is information that was heard on the street but no original source for
verification. (rumor, gossip, scuttlebutt)
- Events -
This is information pertaining to neighborhood organizations or activities,
church socials, or any other event a local organization, business, or resident
would like to highlight.?
- Calendar -
A Common Neighborhood Calendar is currently under construction for future
events.
To get started you
don't need to do anything but explore and enjoy. If you would like to
participate in ongoing dialogue, post information to one of the news sections or
update our communal calendar with events you find important then simply create an account and log in.
Content
Moderation.
Content in our
online neighborhood community is ultimately moderated by the users. When a
community member submits a story it is not automatically posted to the Front Page
or appropriate Category. Instead, the story or information is placed in a queue where other users can rate the value
and or relevance of the information. If community members feel the news or information is
relevant and important they will rate it as so. If it is spammish, offensive, or not relevant
to the topic then community members can give the piece a poor rating.
Positive ratings
are rewarded with legitimate placement within our neighborhood and trash is
discarded.
Community
Rules.
Right now the only
community rules are what you have read above or below this line and the self
regulating controls built into the program that serves our site. Content is
moderated by the users and habitually rude behavior will be rewarded with
poor personal ratings assigned by other community members.
Anything goes as long as it falls within the above described criteria or
unless an event requires the direct attention of Site Administrators.
