Age Activated Attention Deficit Disorder.
This is how it manifests: I decide to water my garden. As I turn on the hose in the driveway, I look over at my car and decide it needs washing. (593 words in story) Full Story By Admin, Section From The Streets

We would like to ask you to fill out a survey that looks at school-based mental health services. The purpose of this research is to learn about parents' beliefs about these services.
The survey should take about 30-40 minutes to finish. If you have more than one child, please fill out the survey for your oldest child in school. Please only fill out one survey per family. We do not need your name or other personal information such as address and phone number. This is voluntary; you may choose to not answer any of the survey questions, and may have your data removed from this study at any time. We do not expect any risks for you in filling out the survey. All data collected in this study is confidential and may not be traced to any one person. The data will be stored in a locked cabinet in the researcher's office or in confidential computer files. If you have any questions or concerns about this study, or if any problems come up, you may call the Project Director, Dr. James R. Koller, at (573) 882-4972. Research team members, Andrew Selders and Amanda Paul can be reached at (573) 882-4972. You may also contact Michele Reznicek, Compliance Officer for the MU Campus IRB, at (573) 884-6512. To give consent you must be 18 years of age or older. By filling out the survey, you are saying that you are 18 years of age or older and you agree to do this study. If you want to know the findings of this study, please email Amanda Paul at abpfyc@mizzou.edu with your contact information. Thank you for your participation. Imagine being told you couldn't take your child to the doctor for a full year. What might happen if your child got strep throat and had to go without medical attention for months and months?
This sad scenario will be a reality for many U.S. families if the rules aren't fixed: Under new rules, made by the President, some children who depend on lower-cost health care coverage will have to wait a full year--with no insurance at all--to qualify for help. This outrageous requirement is part of a slate of changes made to limit the number of children who can benefit from the lower-cost health care coverage of the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP). We can't believe that in a country where 1 in 9 children go without any health care coverage at all, there is any thought of more limits. This senseless rules change is especially surprising because SCHIP is supported by Democrats and Republicans alike. Everyone, it seems, except for the President, sees the value in giving kids healthcare. Let's send a strong message together. TELL CONGRESS THAT KIDS CAN'T WAIT FOR HEALTHCARE BY GOING TO THIS LINK: When Congress returns from its recess in September, it will take up funding for the State Children's Health Insurance Program again. Tell your representatives that they must reverse these new and backward-thinking rules (described below), and fully fund the program. My baby girl Jasmine just started Central High School this morning. I've got so much work to catch up on but I can't quit thinking of her, and how tough it was the first day with all the upper classmen towering over you . Especially all of the days leading up to the first day, the anticipation, the worrying about how you'd be accepted. I wouldn't want to go through school again for any amount of money. I survived it somehow, maybe not gracefully, but it's behind me and good riddance. Often I have to slow down and realize how many more struggles children have in today's world. I can't imagine being a freshman in High School again. I hope my youngest daughter looks back with pride and accomplishment for a job well done to the best of her ability. I still regret decisions I made in High School, letting others influence my decisions and allowing myself to take the easy classes. I still wish I'd taken Liberty & Law, and especially Word Study. The decisions made at the most vulnerable time in our lives is probably the most important decisions we'll ever make, and that holds true today. I say it often but I could never say it eloquently enough for her to truly fathom exactly how proud I am of my baby girl... I love you Jasmine! By Admin, Section From The Streets
